Some people think that web design is the same as graphic design - where in fact it is completely different. Web designers design soley for the web and then code their design using HTML/XHTML/CSS and any other coding language that fits the need of their website. Again, some people often think that web designers don't code their sites and think that all coding is up to a web developer.

Web design is a unique skill as it both delves into creating a design using Photoshop/Illustrator etc. and then using programs such as Dreamweaver/Notepad to code their designs into a fully working website.

We've created a site using todays standard practise of using CSS and DIVS. There are four different layouts to choose from all using the same HTML/XHTML code but each one linking to a different CSS. Style Sheets are powerful as they can change the look and layout of a website without changing the HTML/XHTML.
